Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to start 4-Year Turkey Banding Project

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Wildlife and Forestry Division is launching a 4-year, large-scale turkey banding project across the state to look at factors affecting gobbler harvest rates.

Eastern wild turkey populations throughout much of the southeastern United States have declined over the past decade or more, including in parts of Tennessee. Of the possible causes of these declines, only impacts associated with harvest are directly influenced by state wildlife agencies responsible for the management of the wild turkey resource.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 894 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, March 10th, 2021

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – On Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 656,682 confirmed cases of COVID-19. That is an increase of 894 cases from Tuesday’s 655,788. There have been 9,329 (+19) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been   T W E N T Y   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 17,611. One of the new cases reported today was in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 213 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 249 tests given with 15 positive results for a 6.0 percent positive.

Approximately 200 feet of the outer westbound lane of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard at the intersection of Fairview Lane will be closed and traffic flow will be shifted to the inside and center turning lanes during the work.
