APSU Softball sweeps doubleheader against Morehead State

 

APSU SoftballClarksville, TNKelsey Gross and Harley Mullins limited Morehead State to one run on eight total hits total in the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team’s Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader sweep, Sunday afternoon at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field, as the Govs came away with 4-1 and 4-0 victories.

Representatives Mark Green, Henry Cuellar Introduce Bipartisan Allied Burden Sharing Report Act

 

U.S. House of RepresentativesWashington, D.C. – Congressman Mark Green (TN-07) and Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) have introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Allied Burden Sharing Report Act of 2021, a bill that would require the U.S. Department of Defense to provide Congress with a report on the common defense contributions of NATO countries and other defense partners.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has introduced identical legislation in the Senate.

Representative Green said, “A strong NATO and all our alliances are more important now than ever in the face of growing threats to our Nation from China, Russia, Iran, and dangerous non-state actors.”

President Joe Biden Expands Efforts to Recruit More Vaccinators

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – As vaccine supply continues to increase in the coming weeks and all adults across the U.S. become eligible for vaccination by May 1st, 2021,

President Joe Biden is announcing new steps to increase the number of vaccinators to administer vaccines. Through today’s actions more health care personnel, such as dentists and veterinarians will be eligible to participate in the national effort to vaccinate the U.S. population, with the goal of getting the nation closer to normal by the Fourth of July.

Austin Peay State University Football takes down Southeast Missouri in Double Overtime, 49-42

 

APSU FootballCape Girardeau, MO – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team pulled out another heart-stopper in a visit to Houck Stadium to take on Southeast Missouri, toppling the Redhawks 49-42 in a double-overtime affair thanks to record-breaking performances by Baniko Harley and Draylen Ellis and a host of outstanding performances up and down the roster.

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Left fielder TJ Foreman had two hits and two RBI as the Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team split an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Tennessee Tech, Sunday afternoon, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park. The Govs won the opener 6-2 behind Foreman’s effort but dropped the nightcap, 12-0.

U.S. Representative Mark Green Introduces Constitutional Amendment Requiring Congress to Balance Its Budget

 

U.S. House of RepresentativesWashington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Green has introduced a constitutional amendment that would require Congress to pass a balanced budget within 10 years and keep that budget permanently balanced.

The constitutional amendment, which Green first introduced in the 116th Congress, ensures that the Federal government is subject to the same spending constraints as states. Many states have passed amendments to their state constitutions requiring their states to maintain balanced budgets.

Senator Marsha Blackburn Demands Answers on Chinese Sister Cities

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R–Tenn.) introduced legislation along with Senators Josh Hawley (R–Mo.), Kevin Cramer (R–N.D.), Thom Tillis (R–N.C.), Marco Rubio (R–Fla.), and Roger Marshall (R–Kans.) to shed light on the 157 sister city partnerships between U.S. and Chinese communities. Congressman Chip Roy (R–Tex.) introduced companion legislation in the House of Representatives.

Nashville Sounds General Manager, Chief Operating Officer Adam Nuse to Leave Organization

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced that General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Adam Nuse is leaving the organization to accept a role with the Tennessee Titans.

Nuse was hired in May of 2016 and has overseen all day-to-day operations of the organization since then. Nuse’s final day with the Sounds will be Friday, April 9th, 2021.

“I would like to give a sincere thank you to Adam and his family for their contributions to the Sounds over the last four-plus years,” said Sounds Co-Owner Frank Ward.
