Austin Peay State University Baseball splits doubleheader against Southeast Missouri

 

APSU BaseballCape Girardeau, MO – Over eight hours and 23 innings after the day began, Austin Peay State University’s baseball team left Capaha Field with a split of its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Southeast Missouri. The host Redhawks won the opener 6-5 in 11 innings before the Governors won the nightcap, 12-11, in 12 innings.

APSU Softball drops doubleheader at Eastern Illinois

 

APSU SoftballCharleston, IL – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team got the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning in of their Ohio Valley Conference opener versus Eastern Illinois, Saturday at Williams Field, but could not come up with a final big hit, as the Govs dropped a doubleheader to EIU by 4-2 and 8-0 finals.

Overall, the Governors (9-6, 4-4 OVC) were held to eight hits and two runs in the twinbill, with the final game of the three-game OVC series scheduled to start, 11 a.m., Sunday.

Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will host a HOPFAME Facebook Live event starting at 7:00pm on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 on HCC’s Facebook page.

The event is an informational session for individuals and their families who are interested in a career in advanced manufacturing and are available to begin courses in the fall of 2021. The deadline to apply for the program is May 1st.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last March, after the rooms were booked and the speakers confirmed, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Center for Rural Education was set to host its inaugural conference. Dr. Cheryl Lambert, APSU associate professor of education and the center’s coordinator, was eager for the event to provide teachers and administrators from rural communities with new, researched-based strategies for their classrooms.

Senator Marsha Blackburn Introduces Legislation Honoring Gold Star Families

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) along with Senators Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Joni Ernst (R- Iowa), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) introduced the Sergeant First Class Sean Cooley and Specialist Christopher Horton Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program Act.

The legislation would create a fellowship program in the Senate to offer an opportunity for Gold Star family members to participate in the system of government for which their loved one gave his or her life.

Austin Peay State University Volleyball series against SIU Edwardsville canceled

 

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) volleyball team’s matches against SIU Edwardsville, scheduled Sunday and Monday, have been canceled due to COVID-19 Coronavirus protocols and in accordance with Ohio Valley Conference policies.

Austin Peay State University is scheduled to end Ohio Valley Conference play, March 28th-29th, when it travels to UT Martin.
