Austin Peay State University Men’s Tennis plays Jacksonville State, Belmont this weekend

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – After winning their first match of the season last time out, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis will be back in action with a pair of Ohio Valley Conferences matches this weekend. APSU will host Jacksonville State for a 2:00pm, Friday, match at the Governors Tennis Courts before traveling to Nashville for an 11:00am, Saturday, match at Belmont.

Marsha Blackburn, Colleagues Introduce Stopping Border Surges Act

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) along with Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced the Stopping Border Surges Act, a bill to address loopholes in our immigration system which encourage vulnerable immigrant populations to take dangerous, illegal paths of entry into the United States.

“Migrants exploit our immigration system to illegally enter and stay in the United States,” said Senator Blackburn. “This process enriches cartels and coyotes that traffic illegal immigrants across the border.”

Clarksville-Montgomery County under Tornado Watch tonight

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee. The tornado watch is in effect until 11:00pm this evening, Thursday, March 25th, 2021

There is also a wind advisory in effect until 4:00am Friday.

Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected with localized gusts to around 40 mph possible.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,166 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, March 25th, 2021

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 669,707 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Thursday, March 25th, 2021. That is an increase of 1,166 cases from Wednesday’s 668,541. There have been 9,480 (+3) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

F I F T Y   F O U R   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,164. Ten of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 217 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 455 tests given with 45 positive results for a 9.9 percent positive.
