Marsha Blackburn, Dick Durbin Introduce Legislation to Improve Rural Health Care

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) along with Senators Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.), and Tina Smith (D-Minn.) introduced the bipartisan Rural America Health Corps Act. Representatives Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) and David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) introduced companion legislation in the House of Representatives.

“Rural communities often find it challenging to recruit and retain health care practitioners,” said Senator Blackburn. “This legislation will create a Rural Health Corps to incentivize providers to practice and plant roots in rural communities.”

Planters Bank Donates Nearly $90,000 to Area Organizations Impacted by COVID-19

 

Planters BankHopkinsville, KY – During the seventh annual Planters Bank Season of Giving, community organizations impacted by COVID-19 Coronavirus were supported throughout Western Kentucky and Tennessee.

The Planters Bank giveback campaign resulted in 12 area organizations receiving a total of $88,964.64, with $60,000 of that donation the bank’s commitment of a $5,000 donation to each organization before their fundraising effort began.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 2,056 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, March 29th, 2021

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 672,487 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Monday, March 29th, 2021. That is an increase of 2,056 cases from Friday’s 670,431. There have been 9,534 (+40) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

N I N E T Y   O N E   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,312. Thirteen of the new cases reported over the last three days were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 220 (+3) deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 178 tests given with 21 positive results for an 11.8 percent positive.

101st Airborne Division’s Red Currahee Squad Leaders Train, gain Proficiencies during Toccoa Tough II

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Red Currahee squad leaders became proficient in battle drills and troop leading procedures during Toccoa Tough II, a leadership professional development course and field training exercise.

Second Lieutenant Scott Hinshaw, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), said squad leaders built espirit de corps and camaraderie during the course, March 8th-12th.

“Toccoa Tough II was developed to build our squad leaders and develop poise under pressure, while focusing on the troop leading procedures and their competency in the field, in order to develop their leadership when they move back and are able to train their squads,” he said.
