APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball pitchers Shelby Harpe and Jordan Benefiel combined to throw a three-hit shutout for the Govs in its Ohio Valley Conference series finale versus Tennessee State, Sunday at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field, as the Govs defeated the Tigers, 4-0.

Marsha Blackburn, Mike Lee, Colleagues Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Help Military Families

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) introduced the Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act, bipartisan legislation that would give military spouses with valid professional licenses in one state reciprocity in the state where their spouse is currently serving on military orders.

The bill is co-sponsored by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), and Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), John Thune (R-S.D.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wy.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Roger Wicker (R-Miss), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), and Jim Risch (R-Idaho). APSU Women's VolleyballAnniston, AL – The Austin Peay State University beach volleyball team split a doubleheader on its first day of play at the Jacksonville State beach volleyball event, the Governors beat Eastern Kentucky, 4-1, and fell to Chattanooga, 3-2, Saturday at the McClellan’s Volleyball Complex.

Nashville Zoo announces birth of Three Caracal Kittens

 

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – Nashville Zoo is happy to announce the birth of three caracal kittens on April 11th, 2021. The two males and one female were born to Marula (mother) and Baobab (father), one of two pairs of caracals living in a behind-the-scenes area of the Zoo.

The kittens are being hand-reared by the Zoo’s veterinary and carnivore teams for eventual close-up experiences with zoo visitors. Guests can see the newborns at the HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Feeding will be at 10:00am and 2:00pm.

NASA set to try first flight of Mars Ingenuity Helicopter, Monday

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – NASA is targeting no earlier than Monday, April 19th, 2021 for the first flight of its Ingenuity Mars Helicopter at approximately 2:30am CDT (12:30am PDT).

Data from the first flight will return to Earth a few hours following the autonomous flight. A livestream will begin at 5:15am CDT (3:15am PDT) as the helicopter team prepares to receive the data downlink in the Space Flight Operations Facility at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
