Marsha Blackburn Proposes Alternative to President Joe Biden’s Infrastructure Plan

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has introduced legislation proving it is possible to improve our nation’s infrastructure without implementing the largest tax hike in nearly three decades or adding $2 trillion to our federal deficit.

Senator Blackburn introduced the Paving the Way for Rural Communities Act of 2021, alongside Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) and Representative David Kustoff (R-Tenn.), which will make it easier to repair America’s roads and bridges by removing burdensome government regulations that are adversely targeted towards rural areas.

Clarksville Fire Rescue begins annual Fire Hydrant Flushing, Testing

 

Residents may notice water running on streets, low water pressure

Clarksville Fire RescueClarksville, TN – City wide annual fire hydrant flushing and testing began today, April 5th, by Clarksville Fire Rescue (CFR) personnel and will continue throughout all areas of Clarksville through late May.

Clarksville Fire Rescue performs annual flow and pressure tests and flushes every city owned fire hydrant mostly within city limits to ensure they are adequate and operational for firefighting.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department (CGW) personnel also flush hydrants throughout the year as part of their state-required maintenance program.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 2,464 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 5th, 2021

Nashville, TN – On Monday, April 5th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 677,618 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 2,464 cases from Thursday’s 675,154. There have been 9,575 (+11) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

O N E   H U N D R E D   S E V E N T Y   S I X  new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,617. Thirty Six of the new cases reported in the last four days were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 221 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 90 tests given with 9 positive results for a 10.0 percent positive.

AAA says Gasoline Demand Continues to Grow as Pump Prices Fluctuate

 

AAAWashington, D.C. – AAA reports Gasoline demand measured 8.9 million b/d in the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest weekly report, up nearly 4% from the week prior.

Because of the jump in demand, gasoline supplies tightened to 230.5 million bbl, the lowest level this year, and state gas prices averages saw major fluctuations. On the week, states saw pump price changes ranging from an increase of 15 cents to a decrease of 3 cents.
