Marsha Blackburn calls out Beijing’s Censorship at American Schools

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R—Tenn.) called out the presence of Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-sponsored Confucius Institutes on American campuses.

In a bicameral letter addressed to U.S. Department of Education (DOE) Secretary Miguel Cardona, Senator Blackburn pushed for censorship-free alternatives to support Mandarin language and Chinese culture initiatives in the U.S., which could be provided by our democratic partner Taiwan.

AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices go up Two Cents

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County has the Third Highest Gas Prices in Tennessee

AAANashville, TN – After declining for the first time this year, the Tennessee gas price average rose two cents, on average, over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.69 which is nearly 14 cents more than one month ago and 99 cents more than one year ago. 

“We anticipate demand will continue to increase throughout the month as vaccinations become more widely available and weather turns warmer,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Drivers can expect fluctuation at the pump throughout the spring driving season.”

Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,127 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 8th, 2021

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 680,334 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Thursday, April 8th, 2021. That is an increase of 1,127 cases from Wednesday’s 679,207. There have been 9,630 (+18) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been   F O R T Y    T H R E E   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,738. Eight of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 223 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 401 tests given with 34 positive results for an 8.5 percent positive.
