Marsha Blackburn, Maggie Hassan, Thom Tillis Lead Colleagues in Introducing Bipartisan Resolution Honoring Veterans Service Organizations

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) joined Senators Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), who are fellow members of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, to introduce a bipartisan resolution honoring Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) for their work supporting veterans amid the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The resolution discusses the immense challenges that veterans have faced during the pandemic, including the loss of more than 10,000 veterans to COVID-19 Coronavirus, as well as more than one million veterans losing their jobs.

APSU Baseball drops doubleheader to Morehead State

 

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team dropped both games of an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader to league-leading Morehead State, Friday, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park. The Eagles won the opener 14-9 before claiming the nightcap, 12-1.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has Nine Deputies complete Jail Field Training Officers Program

In recognition of their achievement, Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson held a commencement ceremony. During the ceremony, each deputy was sworn in before family and friends and received a certificate of completion.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 776 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 9th, 2021

Nashville, TN – On Friday, April 9th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 681,119 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 776 cases from Thursday’s 680,334. There have been 9,630 (+18) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

FORTY TWO  new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,780. Seven of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 223 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 343 tests given with 22 positive results for a 6.4 percent positive.
