Tennessee Department of Health reports 2,035 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 12th, 2021

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 683,154 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Monday, April 12th, 2021. That is an increase of 2,035 cases from Friday’s 681,119. There have been 9,643 (+13) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been  ONE HUNDRED  new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 18,880. Eighteen of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 223 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 132 tests given with 15 positive results for an 11.4 percent positive.

Tennessee National Guard participate in joint Water Rescue Exercise

 

Tennessee National GuardSmyrna, TN – Members from the Tennessee National Guard, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Nashville Fire Department, Rutherford County’s StormPoint Emergency Response team, and others participated in a joint water rescue exercise near Smyrna’s Volunteer Training Site, April 9th, 2021.

Tennessee’s Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, a joint rescue crew with a Tennessee National Guard UH-60L Blackhawk helicopter and aircrew with rescue personnel from the Nashville Fire Department, practiced rescuing drowning victims in Stewarts Creek.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee releases Statement on Return to In-Person Learning

“In-person learning is safe and it’s the only way our students will get back on track after significant learning loss. I support the State Board of Education’s work to ensure that in-person learning is again the standard in Tennessee and virtual learning is reserved for emergency use only.”
