Senator Marsha Blackburn, Colleagues Introduce Bill to Report Illegal Alien Attempts to Purchase Firearms

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina), and Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) introduced the Illegal Alien NICS Alert Act.

The bill would require the National Instant Criminal Background Check system (NICS) to notify U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and relevant local law enforcement when a firearm transferee is illegally present in the United States.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 930 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, April 23rd, 2021

Nashville, TN – On Friday, April 23rd, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 695,645 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 930 cases from Thursday’s 694,715. There have been 9,746 (+8) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been FORTY EIGHT new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 19,847. Seven of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 224 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 426 tests given with 43 positive results for a 10.1 percent positive.

Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce DevelopmentNashville, TN – Following a slight rise in the statewide unemployment rate in March, jobless statistics experienced minor increases in most of Tennessee’s 95 counties, according to newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD).

Montgomery County’s unemployment rate was 5.6% in March. This is up 0.3% from February.
