Marsha Blackburn Pushes for Expansion of Concealed-Carry Rights for Qualified Police Officers

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) urged an expansion of concealed-carry rights of qualified law enforcement officers. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Reform Act was introduced by John Kennedy (R-La.) and co-sponsored by Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).

“Men and women on the police force bravely take an oath to protect and serve their communities,” said Senator Blackburn. “The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Reform Act will remove unnecessary regulations for experienced officers and allow them to have the resources to save lives at a moment’s notice.”

Nashville Sounds come from behind to beat Gwinnett Stripers 9-8

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Jace Peterson and Hernán Pérez delivered two-out run-scoring hits in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Nashville Sounds to a 9-8 win over the Gwinnett Stripers Tuesday night at First Horizon Park.

In Nashville’s first-ever game against Atlanta’s Triple-A affiliate, the Sounds came from behind twice to score the win in the series opener.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh and trailing 6-5, Jace Peterson delivered a two-run single down the left field line, scoring Dustin Peterson and Keston Hiura to give the Sounds a 7-6 lead.

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Fort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) now offers the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children and teens ages 12 and older.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the emergency use authorization (EUA) for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to include children and teens ages 12 to 15.

“We are happy to be able to offer vaccines for our 12 to 15 year old beneficiaries,” said BACH commander Col. Patrick T. Birchfield. “The FDA has issued EUAs for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines being administered at Blanchfield. These vaccines have gone through extensive clinical testing with tens of thousands of study volunteers.”

BACH to hold Fort Campbell Soldier Recovery Unit Change of Command Ceremony

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Fort Campbell, KY – After commanding the Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion through its transformation to Soldier Recovery Unit, Kentucky native Lt. Col. Health Holt relinquishes command to Lt. Col. Joseph Reagan May 18th during a ceremony on post.

Under Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Holt commanded the SRU, which provides personalized support to wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers who require at least six months of rehabilitative care and complex medical management. The SRU is one of the largest battalions of its type in the Army.

Hilltop Supermarket’s 2021 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off was biggest competition to date

 

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 17th, Hilltop Supermarket held the 2021 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off. The weather was just right, a little overcast with a slight breeze.

This year was the biggest cook-off yet with 22 teams in the field. The teams competed for trophies and cash prizes.

This event is held every year to honor Dwayne Byard who passed away a few years ago.
