Nashville Sounds blow out Indianapolis Indians, 14-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Bowden Francis tossed seven dominant, shutout innings and the offense tallied a five-run third inning, four-run sixth inning, and a five-run eighth as the Nashville Sounds pummeled the Indianapolis Indians, 14-1, in front of a crowd of 9,541 Friday night at First Horizon Park.

The 25-year-old Francis allowed as many hits as he collected at the plate – one. He allowed a leadoff double to Anthony Alford in the third but worked around the extra-base hit. He struck out the next two batters and retired the side on a fly-out. Francis went on to retire the final 12 batters he faced.

Strong Thunderstorm reported south of Clarksville

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service reports that at 5:01pm CT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles south of Clarksville, moving south at 20 mph.

A significant weather advisory has been issued for West Central Davidson County, Central Dickson county, Southeastern Montgomery County and Cheatham County until 5:45pm CT.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Clarksville-Montgomery County under Hazardous Weather alert

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather outlook alert for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee.

A couple of strong thunderstorms with heavy downpours which could cause localized flooding and gusty winds are possible along and east of I-65.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for the area before 8:00pm and patchy fog possible after 10:00pm.

Roxy Regional Theatre to hold Local Youth, Community, Professional Auditions for Fall 2021 portion of SEASON 39 this Saturday

 

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – On Saturday, July 10th, the Roxy Regional Theatre will hold auditions for the Fall 2021 portion of Season 39, beginning at 10:00am.

Auditions, which are for ages 12 and up, are by appointment only and held in three separate groups:  Youth auditions from 10:00am to 12:30pm; Community auditions from 1:00pm to 2:30pm; and Professional auditions from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.  

Youth and professional actors MUST be able to attend daytime rehearsals and performances.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Tobacco Road water outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has turned off water service on Tobacco Road from Mallard Drive to Iris Lane for water main leak repair. Low water pressure may also affect the vicinity during the work.

The water main leak repair is expected to be finished and water service restored by approximately 11:00am.
