Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAOak Ridge, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission heard updates on the quail research project on three focal areas and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s fish hatcheries among agenda items at the June meeting which concluded Friday.

Dr. Dave Buehler, from the University of Tennessee, gave an update on the quail research project including goals, anticipated timeline, and possible management implications.

Nashville Sounds game at Gwinnett Stripers postponed due to Rain

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Saturday night’s game between the Nashville Sounds and Gwinnett Stripers was postponed due to rain at Coolray Field.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Thursday, July 8th at Coolray Field. The doubleheader will be seven-inning games with the first beginning at 4:05pm central time.

The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers and play at First Horizon Park. Single-game tickets are on sale now for all remaining 2021 home games. For more information call 615.690.4487 or e-mail .

General Motors recalls over 280,000 Vehicles because Air Bag Light May Not Indicate Malfunction

 

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSAWashington, D.C. – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021 Buick Envision, Cadillac CT4, CT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Corvette, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL vehicles.

The air bag malfunction indicator light may fail to warn the driver of a problem with the air bag, increasing the risk of injury.

Sun Science Stamps Highlight a Decade of NASA Sun-Watching from Space

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationGreenbelt, MD – To start off the summer, the U.S. Postal Service issued a set of stamps highlighting views of the Sun from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory.

Showcasing a range of solar activity seen by the spacecraft, the stamps celebrate a decade of Sun-watching for this workhorse mission. The Sun Science stamps were issued by the U.S. Postal Service during a ceremony at the Greenbelt Main Post Office in Maryland on June 18th.
