Marsha Blackburn, Roger Wicker introduce Federal Data Privacy Legislation

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), ranking member of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, introduced the Setting an American Framework to Ensure Data Access, Transparency, and Accountability (SAFE DATA) Act.

The legislation would provide Americans with more choice and control over their data and direct businesses to be more transparent and accountable for their data practices.

Nashville Sounds home game against Columbus Clippers suspended due to rain

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Saturday night’s game between the Nashville Sounds and Columbus Clippers was suspended due to rain at First Horizon Park. The game was suspended with the Clippers ahead 1-0 after three innings.

The game will be resumed Sunday at 5:00pm with gates opening at 4:30pm and will be a nine-inning game. Sunday’s regularly scheduled game will be seven innings and begin approximately 30-40 minutes after the completion of the suspended game.

President Joe Biden’s statement on Eviction Prevention Efforts, Emergency Rental Assistance

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – As the eviction moratorium deadline approaches tomorrow, I call on all state and local governments to take all possible steps to immediately disburse these funds given the imminent ending of the CDC eviction moratorium.

State and local governments began receiving Emergency Rental Assistance funding in February and were eligible for an additional $21.5 billion passed in the American Rescue Plan.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Clarksville-Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County, Dickson County, and Cheatham County.

At 7:26pm CT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of Clarksville, moving southeast at 25 mph.

Radar indicates 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail. Damage is possible to roofs, siding, and trees.
