Nashville, TN – Weston Wilson hit a pair of home runs and knocked in a season-high five runs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 9-5 win over the Gwinnett Stripers on Wednesday night at Coolray Field.
Wilson’s monster game started early when he popped a three-run blast off Gwinnett’s Bryse Wilson to give the Sounds a 4-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
After Gwinnett came back to even the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth, Wilson was at it again in the sixth when his single helped the Sounds regain the lead. Wilson and Zach Green were aboard when Matt Lipka dumped a blooper down the right-field line.
Federal Agencies Release Cybersecurity Advisory on Brute Force Global Cyber Campaign by Russian Intelligence
Washington, D.C. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Security Agency (NSA), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a Cybersecurity Advisory exposing malicious cyber activities by Russian military intelligence against the United States and global organizations. The activities occurred from at least mid-2019 through early 2021.
“Russian GRU Conducting Global Brute Force Campaign to Compromise Enterprise and Cloud Environments” details how the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) 85th Main Special Service Center (GTsSS) has targeted hundreds of U.S. and foreign organizations using brute force access to penetrate government and private sector victim networks.
Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Hazelwood Road lane closure for water service line repair
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department (CGW) has closed the westbound lane on Hazelwood Road from Autumnwood Boulevard to Flagstone Drive for water service line repair work.
Motorists will be detoured to Autumnwood Boulevard and Flagstone Drive during the work.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices rose four cents over last week as a forecast record-breaking 939,000 Tennesseans hit the road for the Independence Day holiday weekend. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.88 which is the same as one month ago and nearly 95 cents more than one year ago.
“Robust gasoline demand and more expensive crude oil prices are pushing gas prices higher,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “We had hoped that global crude production increases would bring some relief at the pump this month, but weekend OPEC negotiations fell through with no agreement reached. As a result, crude prices are set to surge to a seven-year-high.”

The Bats are the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, for a six-game homestand presented by Nobody Trashes Tennessee.
It is the final time the Bats will visit First Horizon Park in 2021.

Nashville, TN – Nashville Zoo is thrilled to announce our six-week-old eland calf is now on exhibit in Africa Field! The baby eland, Murray, was born on May 22nd, 2021. Murray is the second male out of the collection of four elands at Nashville Zoo. Murray has been staying off-exhibit with his mom (Indigo) since his birth.
During birth, Indigo experienced discomfort because of Murray’s size. She was taken to our veterinary center and the veterinary staff assisted in the birthing of Murray. Both Murray and Indigo are now doing great.
