Academy for Academic Excellence holds 2018 Graduation and Awards Ceremony

 

Academy for Academic ExcellenceClarksville, TN – The Academy for Academic Excellence held it Class of 2018 Graduation and Awards Ceremony recently at First Baptist Church.

The evening began with a performance by the Music For Mercy Band, as friends and families of this year’s seven graduating seniors entered the venue. The band was formed after the passing of AAE’s Founder and Director Mercy Yrabedra in 2012, to honor her legacy as a musician and educator.

Academy for Academic ExcellenceClarksville, TN – Academy for Academic Excellence will be hosting its fifth annual fall fundraiser this Thursday, November 2nd, 2017, a chili supper featuring chili, hot dogs, chips, desserts and drinks, and a live performance by the Music for Mercy band.

Clarksville Students at the Academy for Academic Excellence Turn the Tables on the Staff

Clarksville, TN – We all know how teachers and staff are constantly helping our students every day.

The students at the Academy for Academic Excellence, however, are turning the tables on a staff member.

These elementary students have created six paintings, like those shown below, to sell.

The proceeds go to help a staff member who has been diagnosed with cancer and the students want to help the family pay for transportation costs to the doctor, radiation and chemo visits, and other expenses.

“Flow” motion passes Tennessee House as Session Nears End for the Year

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – Flow Motion passed last week.

“The House passed what is commonly known as the “flow motion” this week signaling the end of session is near,” said Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts (D-Clarksville).

A “flow motion” means normal procedures for advancing legislation have been suspended and schedules will become more hectic than the new brisk pace.  Normally a bill takes a few weeks to cycle through the assigned committee process.
