Instant Peay Play: APSU Govs Give Back helps 300-plus families over the Holidays

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – Started as a small effort to help a hand full of families get some extra groceries around the holidays four years ago, Austin Peay State University’s athletes and Athletic Department have seen the Govs Give Back program grow into a department wide community project that helps over 300 under privileged families.

“Live the Dream” Event Features Softball Clinic and Banquet with Team USA’s Lauren Gibson

 

UT Lady VolsClarksville, TN – Faith Opportunity Character Unity Sacrifice (FOCUS) Softball is hosting a softball clinic Saturday, November 2nd, called “Live the Dream”. The Clinic will feature instruction from the 2013 SEC Player of the Year, Lady Vol and Team USA softball player Lauren Gibson.

Her Team USA teammate and former Lady Vol, Raven Chavanne will also teach at the clinic in addition to several collegiate players from across the Middle Tennessee area.

Govs Give Back a success for APSU Student-Athletes

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s student-athletes were privileged to be part of “Govs Give Back” for the third-straight year, this time helping close to 300 families with the Clarksville community with holiday groceries.

The project, spearheaded by the Austin Peay Fellowship of Christian Athletes, included volunteers from many Governors and Lady Govs sports teams through the Student Athlete Advisory Council.

“Govs Give Back” takes place Saturday

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University student-athletes will be out in force, Saturday morning, for the third-annual Govs Give Back event.

Sponsored by Austin Peay’s FCA and partnered with Manna Café, Austin Peay student-athletes will gather at Burt School at 8:00am to begin unloading trucks sent from the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville to provide food for those in need in the Clarksville community.

“Govs Give Back” impacts more than 200 Clarksville families

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay community flexed its muscles, Sunday, when more than 80 volunteers gathered to supply holiday groceries to the Lincoln Homes Community – a section of low-income housing adjacent to Austin Peay’s main campus – as part of the Govs Give Back.
