Austin Peay State University virtual “Remembering Homecoming” celebration set for week of October 10th

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, Austin Peay State University recently announced it is moving its traditional fall homecoming activities from the week of October 10th, 2020 to the spring 2021 semester, in conjunction with the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) decision to postpone fall sports until spring.

Austin Peay State University announces 2019 Candlelight Ball Award winners

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this year, the Austin Peay State University Office of Alumni Relations announced the recipients of the 2019 Candlelight Ball Awards.

The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Dr. Jeannie Beauchamp, who established Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry in 1999, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Len Rye, a residential contractor who specializes in custom homes.

Funding Bill for the Genesis Teen Learning Center Approved

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – Art Therapy Licensing Bill – House Bill 2150 (Rep. Joe Pitts, D-Clarksville) and Senate Bill 2127 (Senator Ed Jackson, R-Jackson) would set up a licensing procedure through the Tennessee Department of Health.  “This legislation was brought to me by a group of art therapy professionals requesting the State to set up this procedure,” Pitts said. 

Art therapy will be another tool in the toolbox to assist Tennesseans with mental illness, people with cancer, people with Dementias & Alzheimer’s, as well as active duty military, veterans, and military families.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University athletics fans in East Tennessee should plan now for the first Govs Gathering in Knoxville, September 28th, 2017 at Calhoun’s on the River.

This event, designed for networking and connecting with alumni and friends in the Knoxville area, is one of four scheduled for 2017.

A host of Austin Peay coaches including Travis Janssen, Doug Molnar and David Midlick will be in attendance.

The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Jack B. Turner (’67), president of Jack B. Turner and Associates, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Josh Baggett (’05), district engineering technician with Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.
