Clarksville, TN – Senior outside hitter Jada Stotts recorded 22 kills, including four in the fifth set, as Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team eked past UT Martin in five sets (28-26, 25-21, 22-25, 23-25, 15-11), in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams, Friday night, at the Dunn Center.
Bowling Green, KY – Outside hitters Jada Stotts and Christina White combined for 29 kills, but Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team fell victim to too many errors in a four-set loss (25-21, 11-25, 14-25, 15-25) to Western Michigan, Friday, at the Holiday Inn University Plaza Invitational at E.A. Clarksville, TN – A 17-day preseason will be put to the test when the Austin Peay State University volleyball team opens its 2014 campaign at the Big Orange Bash, hosted by Clemson, Friday-Saturday.
The Lady Govs open their regular-season with a 1:00pm, Friday contest against Troy. Austin Peay then meets host Clemson 7:00pm, Friday which will be available on Tigercast – Clemson’s live streaming video service. The weekend concludes when Austin Peay faces USC Upstate in a 3:00pm, Saturday affair.
Brentwood, TN – Senior outside hitter Jada Stotts was named to the preseason team and Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team was picked fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference’s preseason poll, Wednesday.
Stotts, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, was named to the league’s preseason team for the second consecutive year.

Clarksville, Tn – Austin Peay State University head volleyball coach Taylor Mott has announced that Jami Thomas will join her staff next season as a volunteer assistant coach.
Thomas, a Paola, Kansas native, brings 14 years of coaching experience to the Lady Govs staff. Most recently, she was the head varsity coach at Clarksville High School where she led the Wildcats to an 11-5 record and the District 10-AAA semifinals during the 2013 season.
Austin Peay State University Hall of Fame to reach 100 members as Bailey, Haynes, Holt to be inducted Saturday

Clarksville, TN – Jay Bailey, an All-American running back who owns the school single-season rushing record; Ashley Haynes, the versatile forward who scored 1,000 points and grabbed 1,000 rebounds in her illustrious career, and Cheryl Holt, who led Austin Peay volleyball to 19 straight Ohio Valley Conference tournament appearances, including the 1991 tourney title, will be inducted into the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame, Saturday.
The 9:00am, induction ceremonies in the Dunn Center’s front lobby will see the APSU Athletic Hall of Fame grow to 107. The newest inductees and their families also will be honored during halftime ceremonies of APSU men’s basketball home contest against UT Martin.
Austin Peay def. Morehead State, 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-14, 24-23)
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team got its five-match road trip off to a good start, posting a 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-23) Ohio Valley Conference victory against Morehead State, Friday night, at Wetherby Gymnasium.
Austin Peay (18-6, 11-2 OVC) got off to a slow start offensively, recording just 12 kills while committing seven attack errors in the first set. Morehead State had no such troubles, posting 18 kills against eight errors. The Lady Govs led the opening set, 8-4, before surrendering six straight points – including three straight courtesy attack miscues. The Eagles held that lead throughout the set and won 25-22.
The Lady Govs controlled sets two and three nearly wire-to-wire. The second set in particular was an impressive display of Austin Peay’s offense as it recorded 17 kills and committed no errors (.486 attack percentage) and rolled to a 25-19 win. The third set saw the Lady Govs offense cool, recording 12 kills and a .310 attack percentage.
