2019 Riverfest Juried Art Show was held Thursday night

 

RiverFest 2019Clarksville, TN – Artists and art fans packed the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Thursday for the opening event of Clarksville’s 2019 Riverfest, the 32nd Annual Riverfest Juried Art Show.

The juried art show showcased works by local professionals, amateurs and aspiring artists in four divisions: Professional, Amateur, Senior, and Youth. The artwork was judged by Bettye Holte and Jacqueline Crouch, and the winners were announced at a reception Thursday evening, September 5th.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts was on hand to present this year’s award winners.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council to hold exhibit, reception for 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Out

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council (AHDC)

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – On Friday and Saturday, October 19th and 20th, 2018 artists from around Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky will arrive in Clarksville to paint the city in the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council’s 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Out.

They will set up easels all around town to capture Clarksville on canvas and will welcome anyone in their vicinity to ask about their work or share stories about the spaces they are painting.

2Rivers Paint-Out artists paint Clarksville en plein air

 

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – Artists from around Middle Tennessee took advantage of the lovely weather this past weekend as they painted scenes of Clarksville’s downtown and river district in the fourth annual 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Out.

The paint-out culminated with an awards reception, exhibition and sales of work produced through the weekend at the Tree of Life Center.

AHDC invites public to awards reception for 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Out

 

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – On Friday and Saturday, October 21st and 22nd, artists from around Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky will arrive in Clarksville to paint the city in the third annual 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Out.

Clarksvillians are invited to a reception and exhibition of work produced through the weekend at the L & N Train Station, on Saturday October 22nd, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. They may also purchase fresh, original work featuring scenes of their favorite Clarksville landscapes, painted en plein air.

Alumni Art Show Awards APSU Grads

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 9th, the Second Annual Art Alumni Homecoming Exhibition honored the work of the talented art graduates of the APSU Department of Art. Sponsored in addition to the art department by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, the show, located in the Trahern Building Gallery, encompassed more than 100 entries.

A free entry to the art show also included an excellent outdoor reception with hamburgers and all the trimmings prepared by Bill Farmer. One of the surprises of the afternoon was a presentation to Mr. Farmer for his great contributions to the Department of Art. The portrait called “Bill” by artist Brad Reagan portrayed Mr. Farmer himself. The intricate drawing was executed in conte crayon and was worthy of a grand prize in itself.
