Nashville Sounds lose opener but take the nightcap in Doubleheader with Omaha Storm Chasers

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium, losing the opener, 8-0, and winning the nightcap, 10-3.

The doubleheader split was Nashville’s third of the season, as the club moved to 4-6 in doubleheader action.

Nashville batted around and exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-3 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds were unable to snap their skid on Monday evening at Werner Park, falling 6-3 to the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers to suffer their eighth consecutive defeat.

Nashville (4-15) has matched the worst start in club history, equaling the 4-15 mark achieved by the 2008 Sounds team. The Sounds went just 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position on the night, leaving 10 runners on base including five in scoring position.

Nashville Sounds’ Losing Skid Hits Seven With 2-1 Loss to Omaha Storm Chasers

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – Starting pitcher Nate Adcock tossed eight innings of one-run ball as the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers handed the Nashville Sounds a 2-1 defeat on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.

The loss was the Sounds’ seventh in a row and the club’s longest since dropping nine straight contests from May 2nd-10th last season. The Sounds’ 4-14 start is the 2nd-worst in club history through 18 games of action.

Sounds Take Down Division-Leading Storm Chasers In 11 Innings

 

Wily Peralta Turns In Another Outstanding Start For Nashville

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds plated four runs in the top of the eleventh inning to record a 7-3 victory over the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Monday evening at Werner Park.

With the win, the Sounds (65-64) improved to 4-9 in extra-inning play on the year and pulled back within 6 ½ games of the Storm Chasers in the American Conference Northern Division.

Nashville – which scored five of its seven runs in unearned fashion as a result of six Omaha errors – received another brilliant start from right-hander Wily Peralta and held a 3-1 lead with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning before the Storm Chasers rallied to knot the score against Donovan Hand to force extra frames.
