Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds got offensive Thursday night to outlast the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 18-9 at Security Service Field. The win extended Nashville’s season-best winning streak to 10 games, which is the second longest in the franchise’s Pacific Coast League era.

Big innings were plentiful as each team had at least two innings in which they scored at least three runs. Nashville scored five in the first, six in the fourth, and three in the ninth while Colorado Springs posted three in the third and five in the fifth. Sheldon Neuse collected a career-high four hits while Dustin Fowler also recorded four hits on the night.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds topped the Sacramento River Cats, 4-2, Tuesday night and finished off a perfect 7-0 homestand in front of 8,412 fans at First Tennessee Park. The win extended Nashville’s winnings streak to a season-high nine games.

Boog Powell and Steve Lombardozzi started the scoring right away in the first inning for Nashville. Powell singled to left and Lombardozzi walked to start the rally. Anthony Garcia put the first run on the board with a double down the left field line. Two batters later, Sheldon Neuse singled to right-center, bringing in Lombardozzi to give the Sounds an early 2-0 lead.

Nashville Sounds split Doubleheader against Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds earned a doubleheader split when Ryan Lavarnway’s walk-off base hit scored Matt Chapman to give Nashville a 2-1 win in game two in front of a sellout crowd of 10,307 Sunday night at First Tennessee Park.

With the game tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, Chapman hit a line drive down the left field line and hustled into second base for a leadoff double.

After Jaff Decker’s sacrifice bunt put Chapman 90 feet away with one out, Lavarnway hit the first pitch he saw from David Goforth down the left field line for the game-winner.

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds scored in multiple late innings Monday night, but the comeback attempt came up short in an 8-3 loss to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field.

The offense was stuck in neutral against Sky Sox (12-5) starter Brandon Woodruff who tossed six shutout innings. The Sounds (6-11) managed just three hits off the right-hander but started to show signs of life when they loaded the bases in the sixth only to be turned away.

Trailing 3-0 into the seventh, Nashville’s Renato Nuñez launched his third homer of the season to trim the deficit to 3-1.

Nashville Sounds ninth inning rally falls short against Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds rallied for five runs with two outs in the ninth inning but it was not enough as they were upended 6-5 by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Nashville is now 0-3 and has been outscored 18-7 in Sunday contests.

After being silenced for much of the day by the Sky Sox pitching staff, the Sounds finally broke through with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Chris Parmelee ripped a double to get the rally started. The next six batters to come to the plate would reach base. Renato Nunez was then walked, followed by a two-run double by Bruce Maxwell to light up the scoreboard for the first time.
