Austin Peay (7-15, 6-4 OVC) never trailed by more than seven points in the contest, but trailed for 36 minutes of the contest. Austin Peay won the first meeting between the two teams – a 70-60 decision, December 19th, in Clarksville. The Lady Govs built a 13-point halftime lead and held on in the second half, fending off a late charge by the Lady Colonels. Freshman Nicole Olszewski led APSU with 18 points while senior Darcie Warner scored a career-high 17 points. Senior Darcie Warner was the first half’s star, scoring 16 points on 6-of-8 field goal shooting and 3-of-4 from three-point range. Lady Govs return to OVC play seeking to rebound from disappointing lossAPSU Women’s Basketball
Austin Peay is still seeking its first home victory this season after losing its first three home affairs. The Lady Govs dropped a 69-42 decision to Bowling Green, December 11th, in its last outing at the Dunn Center. Austin Peay again won the rebounding battle, 40-34, but continued to suffer from their sudden shooting slump.
