No-tax-increase plan includes priority road projects
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council voted 11-2 Thursday, June 21st, 2018 to approve Mayor Kim McMillan’s 2019 financial plan for the City of Clarksville, which calls for an overall 2.8 percent increase in General Fund spending but no increase in the City property tax rate.
The Mayor’s proposed budget was presented to the Council in May, and had been the subject of two work sessions, a public hearing, and two formal meetings.
 This map shows the proposed route of the Northeast Connector, which received $16.1 million in funding in the Clarksville 2019 budget approved 11-2 on Thursday.

No Tax Increase Plan for City of Clarksville includes Priority Road, Parks Projects
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan presented her 2019 financial plan for the City of Clarksville, which calls for an overall 2.88 percent increase in General Fund spending but no increase in the City property tax rate.
The Mayor, in a 20-minute speech Thursday, outlined her budget priorities, and offered specifics on plans for public safety improvements, better roads, strong family recreation opportunities, and a new downtown parking garage.

Citizens, media invited to Mayor’s annual budget speech

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council voted 8-4 Friday, giving final approval of the purchase of 300 acres of land off Rossview Road near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for use as the Clarksville Family Athletic Complex.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said the 300-acre purchase would accommodate a proposed Tennessee State Soccer Association state soccer park and a baseball stadium complex to attract a Prospect League summer collegiate baseball team, both of which are key components of the plan to develop the Athletic Complex using increased sports tourism-related revenues.
 Clarksville City Council’s second and final vote is 8-4 in favor of land purchase for a Clarksville Family Athletic Complex.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council voted 8-5 Thursday to approve a new ordinance allowing purchase of land off Rossview Road near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for use as an athletic complex.
After the Council voted 7-6 against purchasing a larger 409-acre tract on May 3rd, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced she would continue efforts to win approval of her Clarksville Family Athletic Complex project.

Clarksville City Council asked to consider smaller Exit 8 tract
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan notified City Council members on Wednesday that special called meetings have been scheduled to consider a new ordinance pertaining to purchase of land off Rossview Road near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for use as an athletic complex.

Clarksville, TN – After the Clarksville City Council’s failure last week to approve the purchase of land for the Clarksville Family Athletic Complex, I saw a young soccer player leave the meeting in tears.
It was an emotion shared by many who turned out to show support for this much-needed project to provide modern outdoor recreation facilities for our growing population.
It was a heartbreaking turn of events for me, too.

Clarksville has chance to attract lucrative State Soccer Park
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council faces a key final vote Thursday on purchase of 409 acres near Interstate 24 Exit 8 for construction of a multi-sport Clarksville Family Athletic Complex.
The Athletic Complex would be built in phases and serve the outdoor recreation needs of Clarksville’s growing population and add facilities to attract sports tourism-related economic development.
 A proposed Clarksville Family Athletic Complex would include a 65-acre soccer complex, an 3,500 seat baseball stadium and other outdoor recreation amenities.
