Abby Anderson, Dennis Merriweather and Ella Baggett Among Six to Sign at Clarksville High School on National Signing Day

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The cafeteria at Clarksville High School was filled with people celebrating the six athletes preparing to sign their letters of intent on National Signing Day. Smiling and wearing gear from their future schools, the six athletes from three different sports were Abby Anderson, Dennis Merriweather, Mason Gasaway, Ella Baggett, Autumn Copeland and Justis Bailey.

Abby Anderson is the first Lady Wildcat volleyball player to sign a letter a intent to a university. Anderson committed to King University in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a decorated four year starter at Clarksville High. In addition to being chosen to this season’s Region 5 All Tournament Team, she was named to the All District Team for the second time.

Clarksville High Lady Wildcats Soccer beats Hendersonville to win Region 5-AAA Championship

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – The Clarksville High Lady Wildcats came into the Region 5-AAA championship game Wednesday night with seven straight shutouts. The last team to score against them was the Hendersonville Lady Commandos who were now their opponents in the regional championship game.

The Lady Commandos scored, keeping the Lady Wildcats from their eighth shutout. However, the lone goal was not enough to stop the Lady Wildcats from becoming the 2014 Region 5-AAA Champions. The Lady Wildcats defeated the Lady Commandos 4-1 to win the championship game.

Clarksville Lady Wildcats Soccer Advances to Regional Finals with 4-0 Win over Beech Lady Buccaneers

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The 2014 Class AAA Girls Soccer Regional Tournament Semi-Finals started Monday at Clarksville High, School with a rematch of the Lady Wildcats against the Beech Lady Buccaneers. In August, the Lady Wildcats beat the Lady Bucs 4-2.

At some point during the regional tournament game Monday, the teams must have experienced déjà vu because the Lady Wildcats scored four goals again to defeat the Lady Bucs 4-0.

The teams appeared even early in the game. It looked as if the Lady Bucs were going to take the offensive advantage when junior Kendon Curtis received a long lob pass, sprinted by her defender and then sidestepped the Lady Wildcats charging goalkeeper, Melia Correa, for a shot on the wide open net. However, Curtis stumbled while taking the shot and missed.

Clarksville High Lady Wildcats shutout Rossview Lady Hawks 6-0 to Win 2014 District 10-AAA Soccer Tournament Championship

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Soggy conditions did nothing to slow down a Clarksville Lady Wildcats offense that had already scored 18 goals before going into the 2014 District 10-AAA Soccer Tournament championship game against the third seeded Rossview Lady Hawks Friday night at Hilda J. Richardson Field.

The Lady Wildcats put together their third shutout in a row to defeat the Lady Hawks 6-0 and become the 2014 District 10-AAA Soccer Tournament Champions.

Clarksville High Lady Wildcat Amber Colvin Signs With Mississippi College Lady Choctaws on National Signing Day

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Lady Wildcat senior soccer player Amber Colvin signed her intent to play with the Mississippi College Lady Choctaws in Clinton, Mississippi on National Signing Day at Clarksville High School.

Colvin was one of three Clarksville High seniors signing their commitment to college programs on National Signing Day at Clarksville High School. She was the only soccer player.

Colvin played under current Clarksville High soccer head coach Jeff Jordan for 2 years and scored over 60 goals. She was part of the Lady Wildcat teams that won back-to-back District 10-AAA Titles as well as back-to-back Region 5-AAA titles.

Franklin High Lady Rebels defeat Clarksville High Lady Wildcats 2-1, Advance to State

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The battle to advance to State between the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats ( 19-3-2) and the Franklin Lady Rebels (16-2-5) in sectional soccer play Saturday night at Hilda J. Richardson field came down to one kick … and Lady Rebel Liza Hardin made it.

In the 75th minute, the score was tied 1-1 and the Lady Rebels executed a corner kick. The kick was well placed in front of the Lady Wildcats goal, but the defenders were able to deflect it from the net. However, the Lady Wildcats failed to gain control of the ball deep in their own territory.
