What to do During Severe Weather Situations

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Ready or not, the severe weather season is upon us. It began with unseasonably warm temperatures last week followed by strong winds and tornados that impacted more than 150 homes and hundreds of people in our community. Planning for severe weather can help tremendously.

It is strongly recommended that rural and municipal residents use a NOAA weather alert radio which can be purchased for less than $50.00 at several local stores or online. There are also free and low-cost severe weather apps including the NOAA app and apps from News Channels 2, 4 and 5.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announces Event Cancellations

 

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has announced that tonight’s planned Miss CHS pageant at Clarksville High School has been canceled. A reschedule date will be announced later.

Monday’s NAACP Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. event at Burt Elementary School in Clarksville has been canceled.

The Governors fall signing class includes five players from Tennessee and one each from Florida, Georgia and Illinois.

CMCSS announces change to 2017-18 Calendar

 

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has announces a change to the 2017-18 school calendar.

Because a Montgomery County Primary Election was added after the school calendar for the year was set, the School Board has voted to not have students report on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018.

CMCSS names Bryan Feldman new Clarksville High School Principal

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMSS) has announced that Bryan Feldman has been chosen as the next principal of Clarksville High School.

Feldman, who has served as principal at West Creek Middle School for seven years, replaces Jean Luna who has been appointed director of all CMCSS high schools.

CMCSS Announces Other Appointments

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has made four administrative appointments for leadership positions.

Jean Luna is named the Director of High Schools for CMCSS. She has 19 years of experience in education in the states of Iowa, Washington, North Carolina and Tennessee. She will earn her doctorate of education from Lipscomb University this December.

2017 Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Ceremony to be held May 29th

Acuff Circle honors Evans Harvill during annual Ovation Awards

 

Acuff Circle of ExcellenceClarksville, TN – More than 100 arts supporters from Clarksville and Nashville gathered at the Customs House Museum to honor philanthropist Evans Harvill for his long years of promoting arts at Austin Peay State University and in the community, as he received a top arts award.

Eight others were recognized at the same event, the annual Ovation Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Acuff Circle of Excellence. The celebration calls attention to outstanding contributions of the arts in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.

 The Circle is the patron society of the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, and it works to advance arts and culture in Clarksville and Montgomery County.
