Clarksville Parks and Recreation, Northeast High School ROTC plant trees at Billy Dunlop Park

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department staff and 16 Northeast High School ROTC students teamed to plant 25 trees at Billy Dunlop Park.

A matching grant from the State of Tennessee’s Agricultural Enhancement Program paid for the trees, which will serve as a riparian buffer to protect the park’s riverbank from erosion.

The riparian buffer, planted February 15th, 2020 is one piece of a larger improvement project at Billy Dunlop Park that includes renovations to the pavilion and accessible restrooms.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation provides safe Halloween Fun with Fright on Franklin

 

Fright on FranklinClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreations’ Fright on Franklin continues to be one of Clarksville’s favorite events. Scores of local businesses and organizations participated this year, in what has become a Halloween tradition that receives rave reviews from all around, vendors, parents, and especially young trick-or-treaters.

“This was our tenth year and it was a huge success,” Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Rob Rayburn said. “We would estimate that there were about 6,000 people who came downtown between 3:00pm and 6:00pm on Saturday.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold clean up day at the Clarksville Greenway

 

Clarksville GreenwayClarksville, TN – Come on out and help the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department maintain one of Clarksville’s treasures! A community clean-up at the Clarksville Greenway, located at 1101 Pollard Road, will take place Saturday, March 21st from 8:00am until 10:00am.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department now accepting summer pool staff applications for the New Year

Founded in 1952, the TRPA is a professional society of more than 1,200 individual and agency members interested in the recreation and parks movement in Tennessee.
