Customs House Museum to have Illustrator Frank Morrison Speak on “The Quickest Kid in Clarksville”
Attendees will have three opportunities to hear Atlanta artist and illustrator Frank Morrison promote appreciation of illustration as an art form, reading as an enjoyable learning experience, how children and adults benefit from viewing art, as well as talking about his road to becoming a professional artist. Morrison will present in the Turner Auditorium at 10:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm.

APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts Annual Ovation Awards Ceremony set for March 2nd
The pieces, which had belonged to his late mother, were sculpted by the prominent folk artist William Edmondson, the first African-American artist to have a solo show of his work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Those donated works, worth tens of thousands of dollars, helped jump-start the University’s burgeoning folk art collection, and they have made the entire community a destination for art enthusiasts.

Clarksville’s Civil War Roundtable presents Ed Bearss at the Customs House Museum July 18th
Ed is a combat wounded U.S. Marine who joined the National Park Service in the 1950s. Starting out at Vicksburg National Military Park as its historian, he rose to be the Chief Historian of the National Park Service and is retired from there as Chief Historian Emeritus.
