Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion sustains highest safety honor for two years in a row

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – For the second year in a row, the Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion command team, Lt. Col. Bryan Walrath and 1st Sgt. Daniel Munchbach, pinned the Department of the Army Safety Excellence Streamer to the WTB colors during a ceremony July 3rd, 2014.

In front of the assembled formation of Soldiers and leaders, Walrath explained that the Fort Campbell WTB is still the only unit in the Warrior Transition Command to earn the streamer.

“Not too often do units sustain awards or recognitions. Our unit has done that by recertifying and by getting awarded the Safety Excellence Streamer,” said Walrath.

Vice Chief of the Army General John F. Campbell nominated as new ISAF commander

U.S. ArmyWashington, D.C. – Vice Chief of Staff of the Army General John F. Campbell received a presidential nomination to serve as commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force and U.S. Forces Afghanistan.

“I am truly honored and humbled by the president’s nomination for me to serve as the next International Security Assistance Force commander,” Campbell said.

“If confirmed, I look forward to serving alongside our Afghan and coalition partners as we continue operations in Afghanistan. Until such time, I remain committed to my current responsibilities as the vice chief of staff of the Army,” he said.

Over 2,500 Fort Campbell Soldiers and family members attend Campbell Crossing’s Summer Carnival

 

Campbell CrossingFort Campbell, KY – Campbell Crossing’s 2014 Summer Carnival event was a huge success. With more than 2,500 Fort Campbell Soldiers and family members in attendance, residents enjoyed carnival games, fortunetellers, face painters, a stilt walker, and caricature artists.

Fort Campbell, KY – Sergeants major from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault,) conducted an Army physical fitness test for noncommissioned officers at brigade headquarters at Fort Campbell, KY, October 10th, 2013.

Attendance of the sergeants major at APFTs given to any soldier attending Department-of-the-Army schools was directed by Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler, III.

Fort Campbell hosts visit by U.S. Army Vice Chief of Staff and former Commander of the 101st Airborne Division, General John F. Campbell,

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – U.S. Army Vice Chief of Staff and former Commander, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), General John F. Campbell, who is the second highest-ranking officer within the Department of the Army visited Fort Campbell yesterday, August 1st 2013, to discuss the Army’s Ready and Resilient Campaign and meet with Soldiers, Families and members of the civilian workforce.

Accompanying General Campbell on his visit was Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management Command and Commanding General, Installation Management Command, Lieutenant General Mike Frettier who commands U.S. Army garrisons world-wide.
