As of yesterday evening, Colonial has begun restarting the flow of refined products in their pipeline.
This morning, Colonial reported that fuel is beginning to flow to a majority of the markets that they service, and they should be reaching full operational capacity as we speak — as I speak to you right now.
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) spoke with Fox News about how her legislation will help companies like colonial pipeline respond to critical infrastructure cyber hacks.
Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn said the attack that forced the shutdown of Colonial Pipeline networks should be a wake up call to federal officials, warning that “cyber is a big part of 21st century warfare,” while proposing a number of measures to strengthen and protect U.S. critical infrastructure.
The FBI on Monday said the ransomware gang known as “Darkside” was the group responsible for the attack over the weekend that forced the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline networks responsible for carrying gasoline from Texas to the Northeast.

Marsha Blackburn, Bill Hagerty, Tom Cotton Lead Senators Asking FBI to Investigate Whether Colin Kahl Improperly Disclosed Classified Information
Washington, D.C. – Led by United States Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), and Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), 18 senators have written to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seeking an immediate investigation into whether Dr. Colin Kahl, President Joe Biden’s nominee to be Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, after leaving government employment, publicly disclosed classified information and controlled unclassified information; discussed classified information and controlled unclassified information with U.S. government officials; or solicited U.S. government officials to provide, or otherwise received, classified information and controlled unclassified information.
Washington, D.C. – The National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF) has released a new joint-seal ransomware fact sheet. This educational product is intended to provide the public with important information on the current ransomware threat and the government’s response, as well as common infection vectors, tools for attack prevention, and important contacts in the event of a ransomware attack.
The NCIJTF has the primary responsibility to coordinate, integrate, and share information in support of cyber threat investigations; supply and support intelligence analysis for community decision-makers; and provide value to other ongoing efforts in the fight against cyber threats to the nation.
Portland, ME – U.S. Attorney Halsey Frank is cautioning the public to be extremely skeptical of unsolicited offers to purchase COVID-19 vaccines.
Federal, state, and local agencies have received complaints about scammers capitalizing on demand for the vaccine to access individuals’ personally identifiable information such as Social Security numbers, and money, using various schemes.
Among the tactics, the scammers use are advertisements that promise early access to COVID-19 vaccines in exchange for a deposit or fee as well as offers to be put on a vaccine waiting list, again in exchange for money.
Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Justice, Friday, January 29th, 2021, announced its participation in a multinational operation involving actions in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom to disrupt and take down the infrastructure of the malware and botnet known as Emotet.
Additionally, officials in Lithuania, Sweden, and Ukraine assisted in this major cyber investigative action.
FBI announces Retired Pennsylvania Fire Fighter Robert Sanford Arrested, Criminally Charged for Actions at U.S. Capitol
Washington, D.C. – A retired Pennsylvania firefighter has been charged in Pennsylvania in connection with the riots at the U.S. Capitol last week.
Robert Sanford, 55, of Boothwyn, PA, was charged by criminal complaint with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly or disruptive conduct on capitol grounds, civil disorder, and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers while engaged in the performance of official duties.
Washington, D.C. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reports seven individuals have been charged in federal court in the District of Columbia in connection with crimes committed at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021.
Additional complaints have been submitted in federal court and investigations are ongoing. As previously reported, approximately 40 individuals were arrested and charged in Superior Court with offenses including, but not limited to, unlawful entry, curfew violations, and firearms-related crimes.
