Land Between the Lakes Fenton Jetty to receive Maintenance

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – The jetty next to the boat ramp at Fenton will be closed to foot and vehicle traffic on Friday, July 11th; Monday, July 14th; and Tuesday, July 15th. It will be open over the weekend for fishing access. Large vegetation will be removed from the jetty during this time. The boat ramp will remain open.

Land Between the Lakes Temporarily Opening Fenton Boat Launch Area

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Beginning Thursday, March 1st, Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will temporarily open the Fenton Camping Area and Boat Ramp and US68/KY80 west of the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway.

Land Between the Lakes encourages Alternatives to Fenton Boat Launch Area

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – While the Fenton Boat Launch Area is closed, Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area encourages boaters to substitute Sugar Bay Backcountry Area north of Fenton and Redd Hollow Backcountry Area south of Fenton for boat launching.

There are currently 10 boat ramps on LBL that provide public access to Kentucky Lake–three in Tennessee and seven in Kentucky.  Sugar Bay and Redd Hollow are the closest alternative ramps to Fenton. «Read the rest of this article»

LBL Campgrounds Opening as Flood Waters Recede

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Camping and Lake Access opportunities are returning as flood waters recede at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.  Lake levels for Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake are currently at 366.4 feet and dropping. 

The majority of campsites are open at Energy Lake Campground; all sites will open by May 20th.  Hillman Ferry Campground expects to open reservations sites on May 20th, and have all seasonal sites open by May 28th; walk-in sites may not be available until after May 28th. Piney Campground expects to open to seasonal campers May 19th, and have reservation sites open by May 20th.
