Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will host the 2015 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop June 5th-7th in Crossville at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s new Fly Fishing program for youth and teens has a few spots left

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Do you like fishing? Are you interested in aquatic environments? Clarksville Parks and Recreation has teamed up with the National Fishing in Schools Program to offer a class in basic fly fishing and spots are still available!

Fort Campbell’s Outdoor Recreation announces March Adventure Programs

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Spring is almost here!  Come and celebrate with Outdoor Recreation.

On March 10th from 9:00am until 4:00pm you are invited to join Outdoor Recreation while they ride the scenic trails at Chickasaw Trace. Chickasaw Trace is a small 300 acre park, bordering the Duck River just Southeast of Nashville.  It may be small but this park offers some of the best mountain biking in Middle Tennessee. It has something to offer cyclists of all levels of experience. Casting for Recovery® announces retreat weekend for women breast cancer survivors

 

Casting for Recovery® (CFR), a national non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer, will hold a weekend retreat at Tumbling Creek Lodge in McEwen, Tennessee on March 19 – 21, 2010. This retreat is open to women of all ages and in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery who live in Middle and West Tennessee and is offered at no cost to the participants.

The CFR program is unique in that the curriculum incorporates the elements of fly-fishing to promote physical and mental healing.  It is an opportunity to experience a true respite from familiar surroundings and everyday routines. The casting motion provides a gentle exercise for joint and soft tissue stretching. Fly-fishing provides stress-relief and promotes a sense of calm, while the social interactions offer women a chance to share, laugh, and rejuvenate. «Read the rest of this article»
