Nashville Sounds edge out Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-3

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were tied 3-3 with the Omaha Storm Chasers when in the bottom of the eighth, Tim Federowicz cranked his first home run of the season to give the team a 4-3 lead and the win.

The first run of the game was scored by the Sounds in the bottom of the first inning. Nick Solak led off with a single to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. After a Ronald Guzman walk, Solak scored on an RBI single by Matt Davidson for the Sounds’ early 1-0 lead.

Solak also led the third inning off with a single and Andy Ibanez followed him with his own single to make it first and third with nobody out. Solak scored after Guzman grounded into a double play. It was then 2-0, Nashville.

Nashville Sounds slay Iowa Cubs 7-0

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds cracked a pair of home runs and got a bright pitching performance from Ben Bracewell in a 7-0 win over the Iowa Cubs in front of 8,119 fans at First Tennessee Park Monday afternoon.

Joey Wendle started the scoring early when he launched a three-run homer into The Band Box in the bottom of the first inning. It was Wendle’s eighth home run of the season and snapped a Sounds skid of 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

Nashville added a run in the second when Melvin Mercedes singled up the middle and Jaff Decker perfectly placed a double down the left field line to bring in Mercedes and make it 4-0.

Nashville Sounds take down Salt Lake Bees, 2-1

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds used a dominant pitching performance to grab a 2-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees in front of a sellout crowd of 11,024 fans Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.

One night after the Sounds used three pitchers to shut out the Las Vegas 51s, four pitchers held the Bees to one run on four hits in another one-run win. It’s the third time in four games the Sounds have won a one-run game.

Kendall Graveman started on a Major League rehab assignment and went 4 2/3 innings. The right-hander allowed one run on four hits while walking a pair and striking out five. The lone run he allowed was a one-out solo homer to Ramon Flores to give Salt Lake a 1-0 lead in the second.
