Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team experienced a great start to the APSU Fall Invitational, Friday.
The results were highlighted by all four of APSU’s players in the Flight A Singles advance to the quarterfinals.

Austin Peay Softball’s Autumn Hanners named APSU Athlete of the Week

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University softball team senior pitcher Autumn Hanners has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Hanners picked up two complete-game victories for the Govs last week, holding off Memphis in a 4-2 mid-week decision and tossing a shutout at Tennessee Tech during conference action.
The Orlando, FL native struck out three and allowed just one earned against the Tigers in the Governors first win against Memphis since 2007.

Cape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team rolled over Southeast Missouri, 6-1, Friday for its second Ohio Valley Conference win of the season.
Starting off in doubles, Lidia Yanes Garcia and Helena Kuppig knocked off SEMO’s Annisa Warasanti and Emilia Montenegro with a match score of 6-0.

Instant Peay Play: Garcia sisters off to great starts for APSU Lady Govs Tennis team
Clarksville, TN – For the past two seasons, the Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team hasn’t qualified for the Ohio Valley Conference post-season tournament, but if the early play this fall by two freshman sisters is any indication the Lady Govs may be making a return to the post season come spring.
Claudia Yanes Garcia and Lidia Yanes Garcia, who are from Los Realejos, Spain, in their first three tournaments this fall have already shown they are capable of playing with some of the best in the OVC.
