Clarksville, TN – With a record number of teams, players and courses, Austin Peay State University’s annual Governors Golf Classic, in conjunction with the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed its finest showing in the event’s 29-year history, Friday.
Golfers competed at the Clarksville Country Club, Swan Lake Golf Course and at the Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville – the first time participation numbers demanded the event expand to three courses. In all, more than 80 teams appeared on the three courses, featuring more than 300 players.

Clarksville, TN – Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic and Partner Celebration Dinner is Friday and pairings have been announced for the one-day, three-course tournament.
The event, which has seen APSU Athletics and the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce combined their two tournaments, will be played Friday at the Clarksville Country Club, Swan Lake Golf Course and The Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, KY.
The shotgun start for the four-player, best-ball scramble is 10:30am at the three courses.

Tyler Guy, Hunter Richardson overcome slow start to win Bud Light Two-Man Scramble
Clarksville, TN – Despite not getting their first birdie until the fifth hole, Sunday, June 22nd at Swan Lake Golf Course, the duo of Tyler Guy and Hunter Richardson went wire-to-wire to claim the tournament championship in the 2014 Bud Light Two-Man Scramble.
Guy and Richardson, who will be collegiate teammates at the University of Tennessee at Martin this coming fall, held a three shot lead heading into the final 18 holes, but saw that lead dwindle over the first nine holes of play.

Josh Black has impressive showing at Bud Light Two Man Scramble Skills Challenge
Clarksville, TN – Placing first or second in four of the five events, local golfer Josh Black had the best performance at the Bud Light Two Man Scramble Skills Challenge, held at The River Club on June 21st.
With the best golfers in the Clarksville area participating, Black won the big break challenge – individually – and teamed with Brian Balthrop to win the putting challenge. Black and Balthrop also teamed up to take second place in both the sand save challenge and the chipping challenge.
