Hunter Morris Hits First Homer Of Year For Nashville
Nashville, TN – The cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds belted three home runs en route to an 8-4 victory over the Nashville Sounds on a chilly Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium.
Nashville (5-7) dropped its seventh game in the last 10 contests and fell to 1-3 in series openers this season.
Catcher Robinzon Diaz went 2-for-3 to extend the Sounds’ longest hitting streak of the young season to six games, while first baseman Hunter Morris homered as part of a 2-for-4 evening for Nashville.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds fell 7-5 to the Round Rock Express on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium in the finale of a five-game series.
Nashville (51-80), which held a 5-1 lead in the fifth before Round Rock plated six unanswered runs, lost four of five to the Express in the series.
Round Rock grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning against Johnny Hellweg. Alex Buchholz (4-for-5) doubled to right and came around to score on Jim Adduci’s two-out RBI infield single.

In the decisive tenth frame, Round Rock loaded the bases with no outs on a walk sandwiched by a pair of singles against Travis Webb. Engel Beltre delivered a go-ahead RBI single to center before Alex Buchholz chased Webb with an RBI groundout that gave the Express an 8-6 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds treated 9,501 fans to a 4-3 win over the Round Rock Express Saturday night at Greer Stadium, scoring all of their runs in the fifth inning and surviving a late Express rally.
After four scoreless innings, the Sounds attacked Express starter Scott Richmond (4-6) for four runs in the fifth inning.
Hunter Morris led off the frame with a double to the right-field corner and scored on Hainley Statia double in the following at-bat. Blake Lalli singled to move Statia to third and set the table for Josh Prince, who reached on an RBI-fielder’s choice.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds’ Jimmy Nelson turned in an outstanding start and the Sounds belted three home runs in a 10-1 victory over the Round Rock Express on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium in front of 9,104 fans in the finale of a three-game series.
With the victory, Nashville (31-56) secured its third winning series of the year. The 10 runs scored were the most for the Sounds since May 23rd and the club’s fifth double-digit output of the year.

Trailing 6-1, Nashville started the ninth with three consecutive hits. Outfielder Caleb Gindl, 2-for-4, hit a single to right field to begin the rally. First baseman Hunter Morris, 2-for-4, and Khris Davis followed with run-scoring doubles. Unfortunately for the Sounds, that is where the rally ended.
Round Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds blew a ninth-inning lead but recovered to post a 7-5, 12-inning victory over the Round Rock Express on Monday evening at The Dell Diamond.
In the top of the twelfth, the Sounds snapped a string of 16 consecutive batters retired by Round Rock pitching when Blake Lalli reached on a one-out infield single off Nate Robertson (1-2). Josh Prince followed with a walk before Stephen Parker hit a liner to center that was misjudged by Engel Beltre, resulting in a go-ahead RBI double that put Nashville on top, 6-5. Anderson De La Rosa lifted a sac fly to right that gave the Sounds a two-run cushion.
Sounds Catcher Blake Lalli Homers In Loss
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were held to six hits Sunday night at Dell Diamond on the losing side of a 3-2 contest against the Round Rock Express.
Nashville had their best chance to rally in the eighth inning with two men on and none out, but Caleb Gindl hit into a double play to reduce the opportunity. Blake Davis, who singled to lead off the inning, came around to score on a fielding error by Round Rock’s shortstop, but that would be Nashville’s last run.
Nashville Sounds Baseball
Round Rock, TX – Ryan Spilborghs slid under the tag of catcher Humberto Quintero in the 8th inning to give the Round Rock Express a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Saturday night at The Dell Diamond.
Spilborghs led off the eighth with single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, moved to third on a Koyie Hill single, and came home on Julio Borbon’s infield ground out.
Hiram Burgos Earns First Career Triple-A Victory
Round Rock, TX – Caleb Gindl went 4-for-4 with three doubles to power the Nashville Sounds to a 5-2 victory over the Round Rock Express on Friday evening at The Dell Diamond.
Sounds starter Hiram Burgos (1-2) picked up his first career Triple-A victory after holding the Express to two runs (one earned) on four hits over five-plus innings of work. The right-hander walked four batters and struck out three while throwing 102 pitches on the night, his highest workload in six starts since joining Nashville.
