Nashville Sounds hold off Oklahoma City Dodgers for 6-4 Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds held the lead for the whole game in 6-4 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park. Pacific Coast League All-Star Seth Maness earned his fifth win of the season in the contest.

Two runs were scored by Nashville in the first inning, with one run scoring on an error. With the bases loaded, Angelo Mora overthrew second base after fielding a groundball. That scored Zack Granite and Scott Heineman to put the Sounds up 2-0.

Nashville Sounds fall to Oklahoma City Dodgers, 13-6

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Sunday night, the Oklahoma City Dodgers beat the Nashville Sounds 13-6 at First Tennessee Park. The Dodgers hit five home runs to highlight their offensive night.

The rout started in the first inning when Gavin Lux hit a leadoff homer in the first inning. The Sounds did respond with a run in the bottom half of the inning to have the game tied at 1-1 into the second inning.

The Dodgers scored the next 12 runs from innings two through five. Four runs came in the second inning on four hits to put them up 5-1. They scored two more runs in the third inning on back-to-back home runs by Jon Kemmer and Jake Peter to make it 7-1.

Nashville Sounds fall at First Tennessee Park to Oklahoma City Dodgers, 10-7

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds managed to rally and score three runs in the  bottom of the ninth but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Oklahoma City Dodgers in 10-7 loss at First Tennessee Park Saturday night.

The back-and-forth tilt was even at the start of the eighth. Trouble started when three of the first four batters reached for Oklahoma City against Nashville reliever Miguel Del Pozo. With the bases loaded and one out, Del Pozo balked to give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead.

Nashville Sounds score three runs on Fresno Grizzlies error to seal win

 

Dropped Fly Ball in Left Field Allows Three Runs in Sixth

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds took full advantage of a huge error in the sixth inning on their way to a 4-1 win over the Fresno Grizzlies in front of 4,971 fans Monday night at First Tennessee Park.

With two outs and the bases loaded in a 0-0 game in the bottom of the sixth, Fresno left fielder Jon Kemmer dropped a fly ball hit by Rangel Ravelo that would have ended the inning. Chad Pinder, Renato Nunez and Jake Smolinski raced around to score the first three runs of the game.

For good measure, catcher Bryan Anderson rifled a double down the left field line to tack on a run and make it 4-0.

Nashville Sounds beat Fresno Grizzlies Sunday, 6-3

 

Team Sits One Game Back of .500 at 18-19

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – A balanced offense led the Nashville Sounds to a 6-3 win over the Fresno Grizzlies in front of 7,423 fans Sunday afternoon at First Tennessee Park.

Coupled with last night’s win over Fresno (15-21), it marks just the second time this year the Sounds (18-19) have won two home games in as many days.

All but one player in Nashville’s starting lineup had at least one hit, RBI or run scored.

Fresno’s Jon Singleton gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when he knocked in Tony Kemp who started the game with a single.
