Nashvile Sounds swept by Oklahoma city RedHawks in Doubleheader on Thursday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped both games of a doubleheader to the visiting Oklahoma City RedHawks on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium. The Sounds dropped a 4-3 opener and lost, 4-2, in the nightcap.

The last time Nashville was swept in a doubleheader was July 7th at Oklahoma City. The four-game skid by the Sounds dropped the club to a 4-11 record, which is the worst start by the club during the PCL era. Eleven of Nashville’s 15 games this season have been decided by one or two runs (3-8).

Nashville Sounds drop Wednesday afternoon game to Oklahoma City RedHawks 7-5

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped a 7-5 contest to the visiting Oklahoma City RedHawks on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game set.

RedHawks starter Dallas Keuchel (3-0) threw his third straight quality start to open the season for the win. The left-hander surrendered two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three in seven innings. Keuchel tossed seven scoreless against Nashville earlier this season on April 12th in Oklahoma City.

Sounds Lose On 10th-Inning Walkoff Homer

 

Nashville Drops Third Straight Game In Oklahoma City

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Pinch-hitter Drew Locke belted a two-out homer in the bottom of the tenth inning to power the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Wednesday evening at RedHawks Field.

Facing Sounds reliever Donovan Hand, who had joined the club from Double-A Huntsville earlier in the day, Locke smacked a 1-0 offering over the left field wall for the game-winning blast, his second roundtripper of the season.

Sounds Lose 12-4 To RedHawks On Tuesday

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds were handed a 12-4 loss by the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Tuesday Night at RedHawks Field in the second game of a four-game series.

The 12 runs given up were the most that Nashville (9-15) has allowed this season, which has now dropped 13 of the last 17 contests overall.

Oklahoma City jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as the RedHawks took advantage of Chase Wright’s control. Wright hit a batter and walked four more while the RedHawks scored their first run on a wild pitch from the southpaw. The next four runs came on a Collin DeLome grand slam over the right field wall. The long ball was Delome’s second of the season and the first grand slam given up by the Sounds this season.

Sounds Spilt Doubleheader With RedHawks On Tuesday Night

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the visiting Oklahoma City RedHawks on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium, dropping the first game, 6-7, and taking the nightcap, 2-1. The twinbill made up Monday evening’s rainout.

In the nightcap, Sounds edged the RedHawks, 2-1, behind Brendan Katin’s two-run homer and another fine pitching effort from Sounds starter Amaury Rivas (2-0).

The damage came in the bottom of the fourth inning, as first baseman Mat Gamel led off the frame with a double down the left field line, extending his consecutive-game streak with a double to three games. Katin then jacked a two-run homer over the wall in right-center, for his second long ball of the doubleheader.

Sounds, RedHawks Postponed Due To Rain On Monday Night

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Tonight’s scheduled 7:05pm series opener between the Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City RedHawks at Greer Stadium has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions resulting from heavy rains throughout Middle Tennessee.
