Nashville Sounds beat Las Vegas Aviators 3-2 at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Nashville Sounds pitcher Seth Maness was solid on the mound Friday night and Carlos Tocci made two spectacular diving catches to help the club to a 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Aviators in front of a sellout crowd of 11,108 at First Tennessee Park.

Maness limited the prolific Las Vegas offense to just one run in 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six hits and struck out a pair. Maness got a no-decision, but the Sounds improved to 7-2 in games he has started.

Errors costly in Nashville Sounds loss to Las Vegas Aviators

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds committed four errors that resulted in multiple runs for the Las Vegas Aviators who won 9-4 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night.

Nashville’s defense committed two errors in the first inning, helping Las Vegas to a 1-0 lead, and two more errors in the eighth inning as the Aviators extended their lead from 7-4 to 9-4. Las Vegas committed three errors in a sloppy contest.

Esmerling Vasquez started for Nashville and committed both miscues in the opening inning.

Nashville Sounds get 2-0 home win over Las Vegas Aviators

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Wednesday night, Tim Dillard and a trio of Nashville Sounds relievers held the Las Vegas Aviators to two hits to help the Sounds to a 2-0 win in front of 8,994 fans at First Tennessee Park.

Dillard continued his strong 2019 campaign with 5 2/3 shutout innings. He held Las Vegas to just two hits and allowed three walks. The right-hander struck out a pair and earned his fifth win of the season.

Nashville got Dillard a run to work with in the fifth inning. Las Vegas starter Jake Buchanan was tough as well, holding the Sounds to two runs on four hits in six innings.

Nashville Sounds fall at Tacoma Rainiers, 3-1

 

Nashville SoundsTacoma, WA – The Nashville Sounds were unable to complete their first series sweep of the season Monday afternoon losing 3-1 to the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

Nashville trailed 1-0 in the top of the eighth inning when a series of odd events helped them even the game. Four consecutive Sounds reached base without the benefit of a base hit. Andy Ibanez was hit by a pitch, Patrick Wisdom and Chase d’Arnaud drew walks to load the bases, and Tyler Pill was hit by a pitch to force in Ibanez from third to tie the game at 1-1.

Nashville Sounds begin Seven Game Homestand, Wednesday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Wednesday, June 12th, 2019, the Nashville Sounds baseball team returns to First Tennessee Park for a seven game homestand highlighted by the return of former Sounds Manager Fran Riordan.

The Sounds welcome the Riordan-led Las Vegas Aviators for a three-game series from June 12th-14th.

Following the series against Las Vegas, the Sounds host the Salt Lake Bees for a four-game set from June 15th-18th.
