CDE Lightband gives Thanks to the Community

 

Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – CDE Lightband faced a significant storm on Saturday, October 26th around 3:00pm that caused the most distribution damage in their history. The storm caused over 32,000 customers to be without power, more than 61 broken poles and over 15 transformer replacements.

Nashville Predators hang on to defeat Detroit Red Wings 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators stormed out to an early 2-0 lead against the Detroit Red Wings tonight, only to have to hang on for a 3-2 win on the road.  The win avenges a 3-1 loss this past Saturday night in Nashville to these Red Wings.

Scott Hartnell got the Predators on the board first at 4:18 of the first period with his tip in at the net of Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard.  Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi assisted on the goal.

Kyle Turris gave the Predators a 2-0 lead at 9:35 of the first period with his wrist shot, assisted by Josi and Craig Smith.  Nashville looked to be off to the races with the early 2-0 lead, but Detroit would come storming back.

Infinity Dance Fitness Academy conducts 1st Annual Dance Camp

 

Infinity Dance Fitness AcademyClarksville, TN – The Infinity Dance Fitness Academy (IDFA) conducted its first one-week dance camp July 27th-31st, 2015 at the Emmanuel Family Life Center. The IDFA Dance Camp was fun and exciting for the campers while creating a positive and empowering environment which allowed the campers to explore the art of dance i.

The 1st Annual IDFA Dance Camp had thirty campers ages 5-17. The campers received instruction in several disciplines of dance to include ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, belly dance and liturgical.

City of Clarksville joins the Local Chapter of the American Red Cross in providing assistance to apartment fire victims

 

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and City Councilman Nick Steward visited the American Red Cross Offices yesterday, to watch as Mayor McMillan to signed a letter authorizing Clarksville Gas and Water (CGW) and the Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE) to offer assistance to the 77 victims of the Apartment Fire at the Eagle’s Crest Apartments on Jack Miller Blvd on Tuesday.

“We wanted to use the avenues we have within the city to provide assistance to the displaced residents. We have a city code provision that allows in tragedies such as this for the Department of Gas and Water to waive the deposit that would be required when they move into a new unit, and also to waive the connection fees.” said Mayor McMillan.
