At Austin Peay State University, 2014 was not that type of year. The last 12 months passed with such speed, thanks to major changes within the University, that the campus community will likely remember this past year as a crucial time in Austin Peay’s progression into a leading institution of higher learning.

Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Recommends Alisa White as APSU’s Next President; Board to Meet Monday

 

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – Alisa White is expected to be named the next president to lead Austin Peay State University pending approval by the Tennessee Board of Regents on Monday, June 2nd.

The Board will meet via telephone at 3:30pm CDT to consider TBR Chancellor John Morgan’s recommendation for White to replace Interim President Tristan Denley, who agreed to serve a temporary appointment after former APSU President Tim Hall ended his tenure at the university earlier this month to become president at Mercy College in New York. «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay State University graduated 1,132 Students Friday, May 9th

 

Clarksville, TNAPSU LogoAustin Peay State University on Friday celebrated the graduation of 1,132 students from its six component schools. Since 2008 the University has held two separate graduation ceremonies in order to accommodate its growing student body.

Family and friends of the graduates gathered on hand to witness the ceremonies and to celebrate what is likely to be one of the proudest moments in the life of their APSU student.

Tennessee Board of Regents names Tristan Denley Interim APSU President

 

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan has named Tristan Denley, TBR vice chancellor of Academic Affairs and former provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University, to serve as interim president of APSU effective May 10th.

Denley, who will maintain dual responsibilities as TBR’s vice chancellor during the interim period, will provide leadership to the campus until a new president is named and is available to assume the executive role.

Austin Peay State University Presidential Search Advisory Committee Named

 

First Meeting, Open Forum Scheduled February 17th

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – The Search Advisory Committee members for a new president of Austin Peay State University have been selected and will meet for the first time on February 17th following a public forum on the APSU campus about the search process.

The advisory committee will meet at 12:45pm Monday, February 17th, on the APSU campus in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. It is difficult if not impossible to measure the positive impact on our university by Tim and the APSU First Lady Lee Hall.

It must be said though that Tim and Lee Hall have infused a new standard of excellence at our alma mater, and they have made an equal, if not greater impact on higher education in our beloved state.

Austin Peay State University official statement on APSU President Tim Hall accepting presidency at Mercy College

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University President Tim Hall announced today that he has accepted the position of president at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. His nearly seven-year tenure at APSU, which marked a period of tremendous growth and national prominence for the University, will come to an end later this spring.

“Lee and I will be departing Austin Peay at the end of the spring semester as I assume the position of president of Mercy College in New York,” Hall wrote in an email message to the campus community today. “We do so with excitement and anticipation at the prospect of new challenges, but with a measure of sadness that we will be leaving a place where we have enjoyed some of the happiest years of our lives.”
