Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – The eighth-seeded Austin Peay women’s basketball team will face fifth-seed Morehead State in the noon, Wednesday, opening game of the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. The Lady Govs defeated Southeast Missouri, 88-84, Saturday to earn the final spot in the tournament.

Morehead State wrapped up its regular-season slate with a 72-70 overtime loss to SIU Edwardsville, Saturday. The two teams split the regular-season series with the home team winning each contest. Morehead State won the first meeting, 74-67 on December 31st, before Austin Peay returned the favor with an 88-81 overtime win in Clarksville, February 18th.

Hanley, of Mt. Washington, KY, averaged 18.9 points per game during the regular-season, ranking 28th nationally and third among OVC scorers. She raised her play in conference action, averaging 20.9 points per game in OVC play. «Read the rest of this article»

The Mt. Washington, KY, native recorded her fourth consecutive 20-point outing to begin Ohio Valley Conference play with a 26-point performance against Murray State, Saturday. The Mt. Washington, KY native opened the Ohio Valley Conference season with three consecutive 20-plus scoring efforts. The senior guard opened league play by scoring 22 points at Tennessee State. Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay returns to action following an eight-day break with a formidable task at hand when it travels to nationally-ranked Louisville for a 11:00am (CT), Tuesday contest.

It is the second-game of the Lady Govs current four-game road trip, which they opened with a three-point win at Lipscomb, November 14th. Louisville will be playing its fourth game in a seven-day stretch and its second-consecutive home game after defeating Xavier by a 62-44 margin, Sunday.
