National Weather Service issues Wind Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a Wind Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee, which is in effect from 9:00am this morning, Monday, December 31st, 2018 until 6:00pm CT this evening.

South winds will increase this morning as a strengthening low pressure system moves out of Arkansas into the Great Lakes region. Winds will decrease this evening behind a cold front that will quickly sweep across Middle Tennessee.

Sustained winds of 15-25 mph with gusts over 40 mph can be expected today in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

U.S. Army Corps of EngineersKansas City, MO – With the arrival of the outdoor recreation season, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District reminds outdoor enthusiasts and recreationalists to be weather aware when visiting Corps lakes and recreation areas.

The National Weather Service advises the public that the best protection from weather-related injury or death is to monitor the weather and postpone or cancel outdoor activities when inclement weather is in the forecast.

Sixty-four percent of lightning fatalities result from outdoor recreation. A large portion of these are from water activities and sports. Clarksville-Montgomery County under Wind Advisory starting Tuesday morning

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a wind advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee, which is in effect from 9:00am Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 to midnight CST Tuesday night.

A strong surface frontal system will develop across the southern plains and push a warm front from south to north across Middle Tennessee as the Tuesday morning hours progress.

Wintery Mix expected for Clarksville Montgomery County Sunday night

 

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service reports another wintry mix for the northwest part of Middle Tennessee Sunday night. A low pressure system will pass south of Middle Tennessee tonight into Sunday, bringing widespread rain and a few thunderstorms to the area.

Ice and Sleet expected across Clarksville Montgomery County Sunday afternoon into Monday morning

 

Significant Ice and Sleet accumulations are possible over portions of Middle Tennessee late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and portions of Middle Tennessee.

Sub-freezing temperatures will begin to filter into Middle Tennessee late Sunday afternoon behind a cold front that will slowly move southeastward across the mid state. A change over from rain to freezing rain is expected to start across northwest portions of the mid state by the late Sunday afternoon hours.

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service reports light snow and flurries continue to affect portions of Clarksville Montgomery County as well as Middle Tennessee this evening.

Reports indicate a dusting of snow has fallen on roadways across northern Middle Tennessee including in Clarksville and Springfield.
