Field of Dreams at Movies in the Park a real crowd-pleaser


Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – On Saturday July 9th the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation held Movies in the Park featuring the Kevin Costner hit Field of Dreams. Around 100 people gathered on the grass at Heritage park to enjoy the outdoor movie, fortunately the current heatwave had not yet hit our area.

July 25th Concert in the Park Canceled

Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosts Movies in the Park


parksandrec1Saturday evening, Clarksville Parks and Recreation held the second of this summer’s ‘Parks After Dark’ events, with the showing of the movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D, at Heritage Park. The event drew a crowd of several hundred people to the park.  Progressive Movements Dance Group of Ft. Campbell provided pre-show entertainment with three very different dance performances. The next Parks After Dark event will be a concert on June 13th at McGregor Park, 6 PM. Hope to see you all  there!

Parks after Dark kicks off with Concerts in the Park


The May 16th Concert has been canceled due to flooding.

clarksvilletnBe sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, May 16 for the first Concerts in the Park of the season.  Concerts in the Park is part of City of Clarksville’s Parks after Dark series which features free concerts, movies and theatre the months of May through August.  The concert begins at 6p.m. at McGregor Park River Walk.  This month’s concert features the Hype of Jazz Concert Band.  Bring your family, picnic baskets and lawn chairs for a night of mellow jazz music under the stars. Movies in the Park: Harrison Ford Double Feature


Harrison FordThe City of Clarksville, Tennessee and Bill Roberts Automotive will present the next Movies In the Park at Fairgrounds Park on July 28 as part of The Leaf Chronicle’s Parks After Dark Series.

This month, the event will include a double feature with movies starring Harrison Ford as a legendary action-adventure hero. Pre-show games will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. Both movies are rated PG. Admission is free and concessions will be available. «Read the rest of this article»


Concert in the Park: “The Trail of Dreams” with the 91st Division Army Reserves Band


91st Division Army Reserves Band Trail of Dreams concert seriesThe next Concerts In the Park of the season is scheduled for Thursday July 26 at 7pm. in McGregor Park.  This month’s concert features the 91st Division Army Reserves Band from Camp Parks, California.  The 91st Division Band, also known as The Band of the Wild West, will present their “Trail of Dreams” concert as part of their mission to support our troops and to foster support from citizens and promoting our national interests. The concert is free and open to the public. Special performances by the Pipe and Drums of the 91st Division will also be featured throughout the concert.
