Nashville Sounds blast Omaha Storm Chasers Sunday 13-7

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NB – The Nashville Sounds plated four runs in the seventh and eighth innings in route to their 13-7 win Sunday afternoon over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park.

For the second consecutive day, Jaycob Brugman and Josh Rodriguez led the Sounds to a win over the Storm Chasers. Brugman would go 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and Rodriguez would club two homers in a 2-for-5 outing. Brugman’s four-hit night is his sixth four-hit game of the season with the Sounds.

Chris Smith pitching gives Nashville Sounds 5-1 win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Veteran right-hander Chris Smith came through with a brilliant outing to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 5-1 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers in front of 6,001 fans Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park.

With a taxed bullpen, Smith worked a career-high eight innings. On his 110th pitch of the night, he struck out Reymond Fuentes to end the eighth inning – setting a career-high in innings pitched.

Nashville’s (47-33) three-run second inning was more than enough support. Joey Wendle walked to start the inning and got into scoring position on a wild pitch. Matt Olson plated Wendle with the first run of the game when he drilled a double off the right field wall.

Former Nashville Sound Irving Falu Drives in Three Runs for Omaha

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Omaha Storm Chasers spoiled the party by beating the Nashville Sounds, 4-2, in front of 11,684 fans Saturday night at First Tennessee Park. It’s the largest crowd in ballpark history and the eighth sellout of the 2016 season.

The Storm Chasers got on the board immediately when Reymond Fuentes and Ramon Torres started the game with back-to-back singles. Hunter Dozier brought in the first run of the night with a sacrifice fly.

Nashville bounced right back in the second with the help of Omaha’s shaky defense.

Craig Gentry Hits Third Lead off Home Run Of Season In 7-3 Loss

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Sounds were victims of a 16-hit attack on Friday night at Werner Park, dropping the series opener to the Storm Chasers, 7-3.

The game got off on the right foot for the Sounds when Craig Gentry led off with a home run for the third time this season. The solo blast was the outfielder’s fifth this season, the most he has recorded in a year since 2009 with Frisco (8).

The Sounds offense set silent for six more innings before Ryan Roberts added another home run in the seventh.
