The Govs have won three consecutive games, and four out of their last five entering this week’s slate.

Terry-ific second half lifts Governors to victory

 

APSU Men’s Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsMartin, TN – Josh Terry scored 25 second-half points to lift Austin Peay State University from a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat UT Martin, 71-61, in Ohio Valley Conference action, Monday night in Skyhawk Arena.

The victory was Austin Peay’s sixth straight, improving the Governors to 12-6 overall and 6-0 in the OVC. UT Martin falls to 4-13 overall, 0-6 in the OVC.

For much of the first half and in the second half’s early stages it appeared the Governors were going to suffer their first league defeat while the Skyhawks were going to claim that elusive first victory. UT Martin closed the opening half on an 11-2 run to take a 34-25 halftime advantage. The Governors shot just 9 of 24 (37.5 percent) from the field in the opening half.

Govenors’ home contest with Tennessee Tech, January 20th, to be televised by ESPNU

 

APSU Men’s Basketball
January 20th Game Time Advanced To 6:00pm

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s home game with Tennessee Tech, Thursday, January 20th, has been selected for broadcast by ESPNU as part of the Ohio Valley Conference’s television package.

As a result of that announcement, the contest is being moved from a 7:30pm start to 6:00pm to accommodate television, with the women’s game that night between the two programs slated for an 8:15pm tipoff. That game originally was scheduled for 5:15pm.
