Tennessee Department of Education Releases 2012-13 District Accountability Results


Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Education recognized school districts across the state that significantly improved student performance and narrowed achievement gaps under Tennessee’s accountability system.

The following five districts achieved exemplary status: Bells City Schools, Bradford Special School District, Elizabethton City Schools, Perry County Schools and Stewart County Schools.

Temperatures to drop into the Teens Overnight


Ice & Snow Take It SlowClarksville, TN – The sun came out and cleared most of the roads today. However, the temperature is expected to reach the season’s lowest tonight of around 7 degrees. Some secondary roads are still wet and will freeze overnight. Motorists should still use caution in the morning, especially on the sideroads and parking lots.

With temperatures dropping into the teens overnight, pet owners are urged to bring their animals indoors and out of the frigid cold.

School closings will be updated as they come in.

School Closings for Friday Jan. 08, 2010


Due to the inclement weather, the public schools will be closed today in Montgomery County. All high school games have been canceled are canceled for today/tonight. Teams may practice (attendance is not mandatory) from noon to 4 p.m. today.  Activities and practices will occur on  Saturday.

Second nine-week report cards are planned to be sent out on Tuesday (originally scheduled for today).

Clarksville Academy is closed

There is no delay scheduled for Fort Campbell post or schools Friday (Jan. 8).

Stewart & Houston Counties closed.

Christian, Trigg, and Todd County Schools in Kentucky are closed.
