Governor Bill Haslam Awards $24.2 Million in Highway Safety Grants

386 Agencies to Receive Funds to Improve Safety on Tennessee Roadways

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer and Governor’s Highway Safety Office Director Kendell Poole announced the Tennessee agencies that received grant awards totaling more than $24.2 million to support highway traffic safety efforts.

The Clarksville Police Department was awarded $217,835.44 for alcohol enforcement. The 19th Judicial District Attorney General got $185,775.97 for DUI abatement and prosecution. $125,000 was received by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for traffic enforcement.
