Starter Brad Mills Delivers Season-High Eight Shutout Innings

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – Craig Gentry collected three hits, including his third home run in the last nine days, and led Nashville to a 5-0 victory over Memphis at AutoZone Park on Thursday night.

The shutout was the sixth that the Sounds’ pitching staff has posted this season and the win evened The Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup series to three games for both clubs.

With the three-hit contest, Gentry now has a hit in 17 of his 21 games during the month of June. He started the night with a bang, taking Memphis starter Tyler Lyons deep on the third pitch of the game. The home run was the outfielder’s eighth extra-base hit over his last 14 games.

Nashville Sounds begin Seven Game Homestand at First Tennessee Park June 15th

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds are back at First Tennessee Park starting Monday, facing off against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A Cardinals) and Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A Royals) for seven games.

The homestand includes Fox 17 Friday Night Fireworks, a baseball hat giveaway, Star Wars Night and more.

Everything kicks off Monday with the Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series. It is also Social Media Monday.

Nashville Sounds begin Four-Game Homestand Thursday, July 11th

 

Featuring 2 Fireworks Shows, 2 Giveaways and the I-40 Cup Series Finale

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium on Thursday, July 11th, for their seventh homestand of the season. The stand will feature one four-game series against the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) spanning July 11th-14th.

The series will be the finale of the four-part Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series, which is currently knotted at six wins apiece between the two clubs. Whoever wins the most games in the season series will be awarded the silver I-40 Cup. Nashville is the current holder, winning 9-7 in 2012. The Sounds will retain the cup with a season series spilt.

Nashville Sounds beat Memphis Redbirds 7-2 for Third win in a Row

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Wily Peralta struck out a career high 11 batters as the Nashville Sounds handed the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds a 7-3 defeat on Thursday night at Greer Stadium.

The win gave Nashville its third victory of the series and ninth win in the 16-game season series to earn the Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series.

With a 48-57 record, the Sounds are less than 10 games under .500 for the first time since May 27th when they were 20-29.
